Fresh as a daisy make-up!

After our induction day began our induction week, first days are always scary! However this one was not to bad, because it involved playing with make-up! 
We started of the day with a design brief where we had to sketch out ideas for a perfume advert. We had two looks to choose from the fresh natural Marc Jacobs daisy and the dark sultry Midnight Poison by Dior.
I choose to go for Marc Jacobs Daisy because it's different to what i would normally do. 

So we all sat down and we were told to do a sketch of what kind of make-up we planned to do, however i was totally unprepared and had to borrow like three colouring pencils so my sketch may not look quite like i envisioned. I did try to write notes next to it so my lecturer would get a better idea of what i was going for.

THE PLAN! was to keep with the keywords she said to describe the brand, which where, fresh, natural, pastels, floral & young. So i wanted to do very little to the hair keep it natural, do a natural smokey eye, blush and highlight for a fresh youthful glow, also i wanted to include a pastel pink for the lips. Keeping the colours on a warmer pallet.

After that we headed to our make-up room (every girls dream!) 

It looked like something backstage at a runway, needless to say i fell in love with the room pretty quick. Next we paired up acting as models for each other. 

So it was only a quick exercise to see how we work etc. So it was not us being showed any techniques, more us being left to our own devices. 

So first i cleansed toned and moisturized the skin i was going to work on, which you must do before make-up to make sure you don't get make-up in your pores and to have a nicer look over all.

Then on to the make-up! i started by doing what i call a base which was simply applying foundation, blusher and highlighter, foundation was applied all over the face making sure i blended well along the side and under the jaw not to get a line. The blusher I found my models check bone a swept inwards with the blusher just under the bone. Then a small amount of highlighter along the check bone, just under the eyebrows along the brow bone, and along the nose. 

For the eyes i took a light peach color brushed it from the inner eye corner to the outer along the whole eyelid, Then i took a brown and starting from the outer corner, brushed inwards to about a third way across the eyelid then blending the peach and brown together. 

Then lining the eyelid and waterline with a brow eye pencil, after doing that under the eye i lined it with peach from the inner corner to half way, and lined it with the brown eye shadow from the outer corner to the middle.  

After that i used mascara to coat the top and bottom lashes, followed by adding the lipstick and applying the powder to set the look.
